Dealing With The Torments Of The Evil One

The Leader and Founder of the New Jerusalem Chapel, Bishop J.Y. Adu, has said that bad spirits are some of the causative agents for the spread of diseases.

He said this on Nsem Pii, Happy FM. Speaking with Nyansa Boakwa, the host of the show, Bishop Adu noted that ''Bad spirits when are the cause of one's illness bedevil the fellow with all its might.''

Bishop Adu quoted Matthew 17:14, recounting a man's plea to Jesus to heal his son; ''And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him saying, Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.''

He shared his experiences of healing the sick narrating a bizarre story of a family in Ayerede-Nkoranza (Brong Ahafo Region). ''There was a woman in the family, a witch, who tormented a young boy and his uncle. This woman tried giving the boy a bad spirit and the uncle, then a referee in Tema who had had a FIFA appointment, a goiter.''

Bishop Adu said that through prayers, the Lord God healed the boy and his uncle through him. He added that one must solely rely on God to deal with the torments of the evil one.
