The Friday edition of
Nsem Pii on today, 16th August, 2013, had the various foreign
embassies chastised by Nyansa Boakwa and his co-host, Adwen, for not providing tents
and chairs for visa applicants.
Ghanaians who apply for
visas were said to be going though a ritual standing-under-the-blistering-sun culture
for visas which they would eventually be denied off.
Nyansa Boakwa
criticized Ghanaian leaders for feigning blind eye on this throbbing issue. “We
as Ghanaians should be respected and treated well in our own home country. If
the white man will maltreat blacks in his hometown, that should not be made
done here,” he said.
Adwen minced no words in
calling out the bluff of the embassies. “You take sums of monies from visa
applicants and painfully deny them of visas. You are therefore called upon to put a stop to baking our own sons and
daughters in the hot sun,” he said.
Mr Nicholas Omane
Acheampong, a popular gospel musician of Zaphenath Panea fame, added his voice
as a caller on the show to rubbish what he termed “the white man’s bully.”
He called on the
government to quickly address this issue and urged his support to helping
redeem the black man from slavery.
