Kente on display |
As
he does it on Fridays, this day, 31st
May, 2013, the spotlight was thrown on Ghana’s Kente.
Nyansa
Boakwa, the host of Nsem Pii on Happy FM was very much pitied on the stance of
Kente on the market as there is proliferation of it from the Chinese market.
He
did not only bashed the Ghanaian politicians for refusing to wear the
made-in-Ghana cloth to parliament and put restrictions on that of the Chinese but
“gave it” to the youth for terming the wearing of cloth and other traditional
apparel as outdated.
Adwen
and Paa Kwasi, regular studio contributors to the programme shared similar
sentiments. Adwen was quick to add that Kente has a rich value. He explained
the meaning of the various colours of the Kente and noted that our fore fathers
were very much spiritual as the colours they adopted for the Kente have great
spiritual value. Paa Kwasi on the other hand called on the government to safeguard
I THANK GOD FOR THE LIFES OF ALL KENTE WEAVERS
